Weekend crazy

On Saturday morning we got up and took the kiddos to Austin's parents house. Then we were on our way to Seattle, kid-free! We stopped at North Bend and did a little shopping at the outlet mall. I was a bit dissapointed at what we ended up getting. It seems very hit or miss there! Not fair, because Jess went the next day and got a crap load of stuff. She is lucky like that! Then we drove into Seattle, and did Pike place, and walked up to urban Outfitters and Anthropologie. I love those stores. I was SO good and didn't buy ANYTHING at either store, although I WANT the cutest purse ever from Anthropologie. Way to much money though. But- tell me- isn't it the cutest thing? I told Austin, "If you ever feel like spending $178 on me- I want this purse." He laughed, and I have a feeling I am NOT going to get it.

So we walked around FOREVER, and decided to find where the Showbox sodo was. We found it and turned down small road beside it (practically an alley) and who was right there on his cell phone not 5 feet away? The drummer! I wanted to jump out and have him sign our cd- BUT he was on his cell and I didn't want to piss him off! It probably would have freaked him out because the type of people he is probably used to see as fans is NOTHING like me. Wow! Some of those girls were crazy. Austin and I were seriously wondering if they were hookers. Fish net stockings, with "shorts" that looked like underwear. Seriously, you could see butt cheeks. We were just going to wait for the doors to open, which we thought the concert started at 6, but the doors didn't even open until 8. Opps. But we waited and got in. The opening band was NOTHING like the Black Keys. It was a punk band, which we don't listen to punk, but was good. (The Black Keys are a blues band.) The Black Keys were great! They sang great songs, even though THEY didn't even get on stage until 10pm!! We drove home Saturday night (thinking the concert would be over by 9:30ish we didn't get a hotel room!) and got home at 3 AM! It has been a LONG time since I have done 3AM! We had fun, but were SOOOO tired!
On Sunday, we got up, took some of our recycling stuff to the recycling bins, and came home before I had to go to work. I was walking into the garage to talk to Austin and I somehow, tripped, twisted my ankle and briused the hell out of my knee. I thought I broke my ankle. I sat on the floor and cried for 10 minutes. Then I had to get up and reapply my make up so I could go to work. I limped around all day yesterday. Dumb. I am okay now, still hurting, but okay! Just wanted to let you all know about our weekend!

  1. Sounds like a great weekend! I hate when I can't find anything...especially when you have money to spend!

Andy and I are heading to Seattle towards the end of May for our 9 year Anniversary! We're so excited about being 'kid free'. We're also getting away towards the end of June too to head to Sunriver without kids...yay!~

Glad you had fun! Hope your ankle is better!!
