tagged...

OK, I was tagged by Amy http://thepurvisfam.blogspot.com/ I need to share 6 things about myself. This is really HARD! Here it goes:

1. It has been about 6 months since I have been able to drink cow's milk. I watched a documentary and they kept referring to it as "blood and puss". They were referring to the growth hormones (rBST) that they give cows to produce more milk and it causes things to burst in the cow which puts blood and puss in the milk. Gross. I do know there are companies that DON'T use it, but I still can't do it! By the way, the milk at Costco is rBST free, so it is safe to drink. I have been drinking soy milk.

2. When I turn on the TV, when the kids are napping and Austin is at work and it is already on Nickelodeon, so I will watch cartoons, by myself, for a half an hour. I know, lame. It is nice watching mindless television once in a while!

3. I spend to much money on clothes for my kids. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE a great bargain, but if I see an incredible sweater for Clara for $25, I just might have to get it. I think it is an addiction.

4. I can't say "no" to those kids that are selling stuff for fundraisers. Even if I don't know the kid, or it is something that I don't want or need. I just think back to when I would go door to door selling Girl Scout cookies (I was the top seller for 2 years!) or selling stuff for my school. I would be devastated if someone would say no.

5. I still listen to rap. Not with the kids around, but at work I will bring in a cd. Not even the "dancy pop" stuff, which I also like, but ganster rap. I know, grow up. My friends laugh at me. But I like it! I doubt when Too$hort made his cd, he was planning on selling it to a white, 20 something, mother of two, who does playdates and Tupperware parties (ok not really, but Pampered Chef!)

6. I have a major obsession with All My Children. I HAVE to watch it everyday. If Ican't, I record it. It is preset to be recorded with my DVR. I will cry at the sad parts and laugh at the funny parts. I never thought I would watch a soap opera, but my mom watched it when I was a kid and I haven't stopped. Clara is doomed for a lifetime of All My Children. And I am sure when she is a mom and watches it with her daughter, Erica Kane will still be 40 years old.

I don't think anyone other than Amy reads my blogs so I am going to email this too! (Thanks Amy for reading my blogs!!!)

Mush mind

Has anybody else had mush mind, otherwise known as "mommy brain"? I have a serious case of it right now. It has been bothering my for a couple of weeks now. I will completely forget things I just said, or jump around from one subject to another. It is driving me nuts. I will forget what I went upstairs for. I am losing it. I was at the grocery store today and couldn't remember what I wanted to get, EVEN with a list! Yikes! Just typing, I think "AHH! I forgot the Goldfish crackers." Damn it! I having been meaning to get so many things done, and I just don't do it! Wow! Am I lazy, or just forgetful? I really WANT to get all this stuff done, but once again, I start doing one thing, halfway through I think of something else, and go to that project, and keep that up for a while and by the end of teh day, there are a bunch of half completed projects laying around. NOTHING DONE! I have a planner, and I am a HUGE list maker, but these past few weeks I am not doing so hot! I am making stupid mistakes at work, which REALLY bothers me. I can't stand when I do something so stupid. I really enjoyed these days off this week but I am dreading going to work in the morning. And yes, I realize that there are a TON of run-on sentences in this blog! See, jumping around. Ok, now I might have the energy and frame of mind to tackle some crap. Let's just hope I finish it!!

My little Comedian

Connor is SO hilarious! He constantly has me stitches! We made some cupcakes today, and he did all of the adding and mixing. I just measured stuff out! So proud. Anyways, we were waiting for them to cool and I was on the phone with Jessica and we were talking about daycares and got on the subject of children who bite. I made the comment, "Connor was never a biter" and he claims, "Yes, I need to bite cupcakes!" Freaking crack me up! He was so serious!

Then, not even an hour later, I told him to be nice to Clara and he said "ok" and I said "promise?" and he spit in his hand and said, "yup, let's shake on it!" GROSS! But so funny!!!! I calmly told him to go wash his hands, but as soon as he was out of my view I was laughing so hard! I don't know where he got that idea, although I am sure I have TV to thank!

Speaking of TV, he was watching a show and saw a toy he wanted, he says "mom, let's go to the store and get Ace's spaceship" I tell him "no" and he slaps his forehead shakes his head and says, "oh no! Now I'll NEVER get Ace's spaceship." Man, I am a terrible mom! He does the "whoa is me" thing pretty well.

And another Connor-funny: When he puts all of his cars together he calls it his "Car Nation". Come on people- say it fast. I couldn't make this stuff up! he just cracks me up! He is such a great kid!

Also I got all of my uppercase living decals and LOVE them! I put them up all by myself and it wasn't even hard! I was so proud of myself! If you ever have a chance to go to a show, I suggest that you do! Now I want more!

Two in one day!

Wow- two blogs in one day. Special. I was just thinking about holidays. They were SO great when I was a kid. Something to really look forward to! Then as I got older- they weren't as cool. But now, as a mom, I get to relive the "coolness" of holidays! I am super excited for Valentine's day. I think it started out with the cookies, but I think tomorrow I am going to see if Connor wants to make valentines. How fun! I suppose I should go to the store and buy red paper....
Anyway- Christmas is so fun with kids, Halloween, Thanksgiving, Easter, everything! I want to be able to help my kids look forward to a holiday. It is just fun! I am sounding pretty repetitious, so I better stop now! Oh and Happy Valentine's Day!!!!

Cookies...

Yeah! Jessica, Zoe, and Erin came over to make cookies! We had fun! And Jessica learned that making sugar cookies isn't as hard as she thought! Ha! And Erin kicks ass for rolling out twice as many as Jess and I! Fun! I love pink heart cookies! mmmmm..... I love having a girl's day! And the kids LOVE playing together! Zoe and Clara are such great friends! It makes me so happy! Watching them together cracks me up! Zoe puts her arm around Clara and pats her back. So gentle, it is sweet! Here is Zoe dancing? I think... Clara thinks she is pretty great...

So that is all I have for now- I think I better go watch All My Children before the kiddos get up from naps! Have a great day!

First Blog on this Website!

Ok- Here is my first blog on this website and I hope it goes well! I actually just blogged this morning on myspace, so techinically I am stealing it, but from myself! Oh- and thanks Amy for getting my addicted to yet ANOTHER website!! I just love reading your blog!
Oh, and Ijsut added the picture of Clara just because she is so dang cute!

My poor babies are sick. First it was Clara- she has been sick since Friday. She had a fever, threw up a few times, has been SO fussy, and sleeps all the time. Well, today I thought she might be ok to go to daycare but decided against it and thought she should stay home just one more day. But, we thought Connor can still go, and keep up his habit of going. No problem. Austin works at 11:00 soi her took Connor at 10:45. At 11:05 Austin called, "The daycare just called, Connor puked, can you go get him?" What?!? He wasn't even sick! Great. Clara was asleep, and I had to go get him. I didn't want to wake her up to go so thank goodness Jessica was home! She came down with Zoe, and hung out while I went to get Connor. Thank goodness for good friends! As soon as I get Connor home he is jumping all around, running like crazy. I am convinced he isn't sick. He must have had something not sit in his tummy right. I keep asking him if he is sick and he tells me, " Iam all better!" I think I may have wasted gas to go pick him up. But I know that if another kid puked at school and they didn't send him home and Connor played with him I would be pissed, so I am not mad at them for sending him home. Still, damn it! It just sucks. I just wanted to rant!
