My hilarious son...

a self portrait of Connor.

Me: "Connor, can you please go get my hairbrush and bring it here."

he runs and gets it...

Connor: "Here mom."

Me: "Thanks!"

Connor: "Don't mention it, Doll."

Me (rolling eyes): "OK, I won't."

Then he runs off.

I love that kid.

Blogging Slacker

My other little Jedi.
cheese?
My little peanut.
Yeah, I have slacked. A lot. I know and I am sorry. I have worked nonstop for the past month. First it was Christmas time. Well, I had hours galore. If you haven't noticed, Costco is a tad busy during the holidays. Then there was New Years. Yeah, we are still extremely busy. Everyone is buying for all of the parties. Then we had out inventory. I worked all week last week. I had only one day off, and all I wanted to do was sleep. After this week (I work another extra day) I should be close to back to normal. I need it. I have not only been neglecting my blog, but my poor kids as well. We played a lot today, in between billions of loads of laundry, of course. I have almost a full basket full of just socks that I need to separate. Ick. Maybe I will wait until Austin comes home so he can help!
Tonight I am making chicken tortilla soup again. Mmmmm. It is so great for cold days like this.
Connor wanted Austin to take a picture of his Star Wars Lego's. Why? I have no clue.

Austin bought some slippers from http://www.simpleshoes.com/ and they are called Stitch-it. You stitch the shoes yourself! How fun! So, Austin spent all Sunday stitching some new slippers. They are pretty cool! I think he had fun doing it too! I am going to get some for my dad for Father's Day. I think he would enjoy them! Check them out, maybe the man in your life would want some great shoes from a company that has Eco-friendly, vegan, hemp, recycled, or recyclable shoes! Great company!

My Resolution

So I realize I never did a blog on my New Year's resolution! Gasp!

Drum roll please....

I have stopped drinking soda. Yeah, kinda boring. But attainable. I recently read that in 12 ounces of soda, there is the equivalent of 10 tsp of sugar. 10 tsp!! GROSS! That is a lot for just a 12 oz can of soda!

That is going to be my only resolution this year. I know I can do it, so I am not going to feel bad about myself this year if I don't lose 50 pounds! Or if I don't totally get in a better financial place. Yeah, I will still try. But DAMN IT I won't make those "official" resolutions! HA! I beat the system!

Good luck on your resolutions!

Vacation planning...

Woo hoo!! I talked to my good friend Mellisa this morning and we have started planning for a trip Lincoln City, Oregon in June. I am sooooo excited! I have lived in the Pacific Northwest my whole life and have NEVER been to the Oregon coast! There is apparently an outlet mall, aquarium, and we will be RIGHT on the beach (the picture is from the house we will be in, it is from their website!) The kids will have suck a blast! Mellisa and Albert have 3 kids and all of our kids get along soooo well! I don't even have anything to type, except that I am just flipping excited! OK, I am off to search the Internet for things to do in Lincoln City!!!

Farmer and Donkey

I got this email from my dad, and I had to share it!

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a
well. The animal cried piteously for hours as
the farmer tried to figure out what to do.

Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the
well needed to be covered up anyway;
it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbors to come over and
help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began
to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the
donkey realized what was happening and cried
horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement he
quieted down.

A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally
looked down the well. He was astonished at what
he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his
back, the donkey was doing something amazing.
He would shake it off and take a step up.

As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel
dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it
off and take a step up.

Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey
stepped up over the edge of the well and
happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds
of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well
is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of
our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out
of the deepest wells just by not stopping,
never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.

NOW ............

Enough of that crap . . The donkey later came back,
and bit the farmer who had tried to bury him.
The gash from the bite got infected and
the farmer eventually died in agony from septic shock.

MORAL FROM TODAY'S LESSON:

When you do something wrong, and try to cover
your ass, it always comes back to bite you.
